The Big Dipper sets behind the Sturgeon Point lighthouse, located just North of Harrisville on Lake Huron in Northeastern Michigan. The lighthouse, located in Alcona County, was first lit in 1869.
Light from the Tawas Point Lighthouse streaks through the fog on a starry night on a clear night in Northeast Michigan. The lighthouse is located at Tawas Point State Park, off Highway U.S. 23, and is 2.5 miles Southeast of East Tawas, MI. The park is a popular spot for bird watchers and for those seeking beautiful dark starry nights and views of sunrises over Lake Huron.
